Writing Instructions
Write a 400-500 blog post taking a stance (make an argument) for or against the issue which you have chosen.
Be aware of your audience. If you are dealing with a specific problem in your subject area, (as some of you are), keep in mind that your audience may not have a context to the issue. That being said, your post has to be more than just a summary. As far as possible, provide some background information and move on quickly to your stance. (In some cases you may choose to refer your audience to other sources for further reading.)
Use appropriate reasoning and evidence.
Avoid bigoted statments which you cannot reasonably support.
Avoid clutter.
Be as clear and as specific as possible.
Don't forget to sign off the post with your name (First name and Last name OR First name and Initial(s) of Last Name).
